The Battle is Intensifying

The battle over abortion in our country is intensifying and headed for Armageddon, a catastrophic ending which I don’t think our nation can survive intact. Why? Because the new man in Christ and the old man in self-rule are locked in battle; the old man in hate and the new man in love, love for old man and love for the unborn. It’s a true love-hate relationship.

They are headed for an unavoidable cosmic battle. The old man is a "natural" man—absorbed in his own free-thinking, self-interests. He is a liberal-progressive wanting to change the future by advancing a God-less path. He also wants to accommodate to the developments of his culture which he had originally designed. The new man, in Christ, is a conservative. His beliefs are founded on objective standards emanating from the truth of God’s written word.

The Right to Life movement has been for many years like a hen pecking at a giant’s leg. But since the Trumpian era the chicken has grown into a monster equaling if not bettering the giant. They are both headed for a final furious battle. The right to life versus freedom of choice ongoing battle is now heading to its finality. States like Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Ohio have passed major anti-abortion legislation, this sending shockwaves and fright in the mostly still and calm waters of the abortion industry. With a counter-attack, Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York has passed The Reproductive Health Act supporting abortion at any time during the pregnancy. Virginia Governor Ralph Northam stated that a child/baby may be put to death even after it is born. California and several other states have passed similar pro-abortion legislation. The battle lines have long been drawn up.

No matter how the Supreme Court decides this it will not put this issue to rest. We are so polarized in this country between good and evil, the new man and the old man will never be at peace. The Scripture is clear on this issue. Every child is stamped with the image of God and has been designed by Him. "He create man in His own image… in the image of God" (Genesis 2:20). Further, the psalmist writes, "You did form me in my inward parts, you did knit me together in my mother’s womb" (Psalm 139:1b, AMP), this marking every baby since their conception as a child of God’s own making.

This is a crucifixion moment for every Christian. We must die a thousand deaths on this issue. We must convince the world, with the help of the Holy Spirit, that every baby, since the moment of conception, is of priceless value. “Prevent not the little children from coming unto Me.”
