Trump Shakes Them Up
Jesus, Luther, and Bonhoeffer did it, and Trump is doing it, now, right in front of our eyes. Now I am not comparing Trump morally and spiritually to Luther or Bonhoeffer. And Jesus is God — a totally different category. But the effects these men have had changed and are changing and will change the world. The enemies of these great men were and are hell-bent on destroying them. Why? Because they revealed the truth and showed them the liars that they are.
Jesus: "You killed the (innocent) prophets!"
Trump: "You kill the (innocent) babies in the womb"
Jesus: "You are workers of iniquity!"
Luther: "The desolation of the Christian worked by the evil lives and teachings of the Pope."
Bonhoeffer: "Silence in the face of evil is evil itself."
Trump: "You are corrupt and enemies of the people."
These statements generated a fierce and cruel response. Christ and Bonhoeffer were condemned to death, Luther was threatened and had to go into hiding. We will have to wait to see the lengths of that the enemies of Trump will go to. The status-quo rage: "Kill him, kill him." Or "Impeach him, impeach him" because the enemies of Christ, Luther, Bonhoeffer and Trump had their lies exposed showing them to be who they really are — the personification of evil.
So where are we now? If good and righteous people in the late 30’s rose up, maybe six million Jews and others could have been saved. If great theologians from among the monks had risen up during the dark ages and resurrected the gospel of faith alone maybe millions would have been spared the Inquisition, torture and oppression. But what will happen in our day? Will the enemies of truth have the final word? Shall America sink into the ashes of history, just a noble experiment in liberty? But Jesus had the Apostles and the powerful Word of God. Luther had Calvin and the Reformers. Bonhoeffer had Normandy and the righteous indignation of the Allied forces of the moral world. But who do we have today? The Conservative and the Republican parties. But will they rise to the battle? Pray hard that God will not let us fall into the hands of evil but will give us grace and mercy as He did in the days of the Apostles, Luther, Bonhoeffer and now in the era of Trump, that He will save the "home of the brave," "in God we trust!" The truth conquers everything.
